Rebel Creamery is a new low carb ice cream company that has recently arrived on the scene. Unlike Halo Top, the ice cream isn’t a low calorie ice cream geared at general dieters. Rebel Creamery produces ice cream is low sugar, low carb, and high fat, to fit in with a Keto diet. I recently tried the Peanut Butter Fudge flavor, which is one of their most popular flavors. This ice cream features a peanut butter flavored ice cream with fudge chips studded throughout.

Rebel ice cream is available for purchase online through their website and is also available in stores. Personally I prefer to buy it in store to avoid wait times and shipping costs, and if you want to find it in your area they have a handy store locator on their website.

These are the ingredients contained in Rebel Ice Cream Peanut Butter Fudge: Cream, Water, Peanut Butter (Peanuts, Peanut Oil, Salt), Erythritol, Fudge (Coconut Oil, Cocoa, Erythritol, Sunflower Lecithin, Salt, Dutched Cocoa, Natural Vanilla Flavor, Monk Fruit), Chicory Root Fiber, Egg Yolks, Milk Protein Isolate, Vegetable Glycerin, Peruvian Carob Gum, Guar Gum, Monk Fruit.

There’s really nothing here that gives me pause, personally. I always suggest to read all ingredients for the food you buy to make sure you know what’s in it and you can avoid any unwanted ingredients.

The serving size on this ice cream is a 1/2 cup, which amounts to 4 servings per container. This is a pretty standard recommended serving size for ice cream, but if you’re like me and tend to eat at least half a pint in one sitting, keep that in mind. Each 1/2 cup serving of the Peanut Butter Fudge flavor contains 19 grams of fat, 2 grams net carbs, and 3 grams of protein, and 200 calories. If you ask me, I consider these great macros for a Keto dessert.

Texture & Taste

No matter the ingredients and macros, these low carb replacements always come down to texture and taste. Having bad tasting ice cream would obviously defeat the purpose of eating ice cream!
The texture of this ice cream is very rich and thick. It is not icy in the slightest. However it is difficult to scoop. I definitely recommend letting Rebel ice creams soften up on the counter for a few minutes or try microwaving at half power for about 20 seconds. The fudge chips aren’t overly hard or crunchy and have a pleasant texture.

This ice cream had a pleasant flavor, which is a light peanut butter flavor . It doesn’t have a strong flavor, but it does taste good and there is no unpleasant artificial aftertaste that you sometimes get with sugar free sweeteners. The ice cream is very sweet. Granted, you want ice cream to be sweet to satisfy that ice cream craving, but it was a little too sweet for my taste, and definitely needed to have a glass of water with it.

Overall Rating

The overall rating I’m giving this product is a 4.5 out of 5. Considering the convenience, taste, macros, and ingredients, this is the best keto friendly ice cream I’ve found in stores. I think there is some room for improvement in the flavor department, but overall I think this is a good product to satisfy ice cream cravings while staying on track with a low carb or keto diet.
